The graphical Abstract of this study. PACAP/PAC1R may contribute to NTG-induced central sensitization by regulating synaptic plasticity via ERK/CREB/BDNF signaling in CM model. PACAP modulates receptors on neuronal cells and enhances the activation of signaling pathways (ERK) and key transcription factors (CREB), which regulate the synthesis of synapse-associated proteins and adjust synaptic ultrastructure in the TNC.
