Selection of studies for the systematic review. Our search yielded a total of 10,826 unique records. After title and abstract screening 1,276 records proved potentially eligible and after full-text review 5 records proved eligible. We excluded records if they did not describe full-text peer-reviewed reports of randomized trials that compared amitriptyline with placebo for prophylaxis of migraine in adult patients
