Table 2 Receptor binding sites within the trigeminovascular system. The table gives an overview of seven different migraine-inducing substances and their various binding sites within the trigeminovascular system. In this table, the trigeminovascular system is divided into the following structures: extracranial vasculature, intracranial vasculature, the trigeminal ganglion, the spinal trigeminal nucleus, and thalamus. The binding sites have been detected by usage of polymerase chain reaction, in-situ hybridization, western blot, or immunostaining in human , monkey , pig , or rodent tissues
