Table 6 Acute treatment of the migraine attack, first step: Simple analgesics and antiemetics with proven effects on the migraine attack and suggested initial doses [10]. These drugs can be used 2–3 times a day. Intake of combined analgesics should be limited to max. 9 days per month to avoid medication overuse headache. Tolfenamic acid 200 mg and diclofenac 50–100 mg can also be used
